Seriously, how does Tony Gonzalez do it? He’s
85 36 years old, yet he’s playing as if he’s 26 and in the prime of his career.
Gonzalez is leading the league in receptions with 39. He has amassed 388 yards and four touchdowns, and he needs just one more touchdown to reach 100 for his career.
Last week against the Washington Redskins, Gonzalez caught 13 passes for 123 yards and touchdown. The best part? He was targeted 14 times. Again: the sure-fire Hall of Fame tight end is 36 years old.
Gonzalez said he’s 95 percent sure he’ll retire after this season, but it would behoove the Falcons to try to get him to return for another season.
Thirty-six years old and leading the league in receptions. That’s incredible.
