The suspensions handed out to the New Orleans Saints players by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for their roles in Bountygate have been voided.
An appeals panel made up of three members overturned the suspensions, ruling that Goodell wasn’t in his jurisdiction, but NFL system arbiter Stephen Barbank does.
This means Scott Fujita, Anthony Hargrove, Will Smith, and Jonathan Vilma are all eligible to play football this weekend, although Hargrove is the only player not currently on an NFL roster.
I’m stunned; I have no words.
